Smiling Hope Foundation (SHF) is a Tanzanian nonprofit organization dedicated to helping vulnerable children and strengthening the communities that support them. We work in partnership with local organizations, including daycare centers, to help improve children’s access to education, nutrition, health and other opportunities that can help them build brighter futures.
Smiling Hope Foundation is based in Tanzania, with our initial work focused in the Arusha area and surrounding communities. We begin by working closely with local partners to understand the needs of children and families and to identify projects where support can make a meaningful difference.

The two organizations work together to support charitable programs benefiting children in Tanzania. U.S. donations are made to OHCP, which evaluates and supports charitable projects consistent with its own charitable purposes and maintains appropriate oversight and control of charitable funds.
SHF carefully evaluates potential partners before entering into a partnership. We consider factors such as the needs of the children, the organization’s leadership and management, the quality and safety of its environment, the services it provides, financial and operational practices, and its willingness to work transparently with SHF.
